On the show we had a caller
ask about custom icons for folders. There are a lot of resources out
there for you groovy Macophiles who want to fine tune your desktop
appearance.
If you're into designing your own icons, there are some
commercial packages, like IconMania!
and Zonkers!,
or you can also use ResEdit, which is free from Apple.
And if you don't want to go to the trouble of designing your own,
there are tons of free custom icons out there that you can apply to
your own folders by pasting them in from the Get Info window. Check
out Iconfactory
for a ton of them.
